My little dancing girl

Some years ago I designed an edging for the dress of the little girl of a friend. The girl had fallen in love with the spanish flamenco women dancers dresses when she visited Spain with her mom and I wanted to give her something to remember her time here instead of the stuff for turists sold in every corner.

It took me some time to design, tat and sew it to the dress, so I had to mail it to her. She sent me back a photo of her little daughter with the tatted edging, but can't find it. That's a pitty. The little girl was so cute and looked so happy with the gift arrived by mail...

The pattern is very easy to tat and varying the length of the picot between "hands" you can have a round, oval or straight edging.

No special techs. Just pay attention to the direction of shapes the pattern. Using 2 colours you would have to use SLT to put the colours in the correct relation and that would vary the length of the threads.

*NOTE: Motifs are joined by the last small ring of the dress' ruffle to the first small ring of the next dress' ruffles.

A nice adding would be one or two long picots to join the 12DS chains of the dress decorated with tiny beads.

Other one could be in the picot that joins "hands and head" using beads as castanets and join the head to both thread of the picot.
